Goth Inspired Chokers

I really love chokers, but finding them isn't the easiest thing, so....I decided to try and make my own. I obviously went for a gothic/vampire inspired theme.

Here's the results:

This is made of black velvet with a ready made flower I got form my local material store.

Here I threaded some red ribbon though white lace.

Above and Below, black velvet and a pendant I sewed onto it

Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter Series

Anita Blake is an Animator, who raises the dead for a living, as well as a Vampire Executioner and U.S. Marshal for the Regional Preternatural Investigation Team. She lives in St. Louis, were not only do wereanimals and vampires walk the streets, they have rights as citizens.

You can help but either totally fall inlove with the characters of absolutley desipse them.

I really wish they would make a movie or even a TV series on these books, although it wouold have to be a HBO show, to fully appreciate the "storyline"

I desided to do some layouts on the characters and who I thought the perfect actor whould be - if they brought it to life





Jason Schuyler Stripper at Guilty Pleasures, best friend to Nathaniel, occasional lover of Anita, also Jean-Claude's pomme de sang. He's in his early 20's now, having met Anita when he was younger, he's a Gemini, has blonde "baby-fine" hair and sky blue eyes. Jason is also Anita's height and loves to tease her or flaunt his being a stripper and/or sexuality.



Nathaniel is a striking wereleopard in his early twenties, approximately 5'6" with long mahogany auburn hair, lilac eyes, "pretty" rather than handsome features, and a muscular swimmer's body. In his animal form, Nathaniel is a black were-leopard. A stripper at Guilty Pleasures, (stage name: "Brandon"), Nathaniel is one of Anita's lovers and a member of her second triumvirate. For several novels, Nathaniel was Anita's pomme de sang.




Jean-Claude
is a French-born vampire who is over 400–600 years old. He was a favorite of Belle Morte for his eyes, and, like many vampires of Belle Morte's line, Jean-Claude was selected for his almost perfect mortal beauty. He arrived in St. Louis and, indeed, the United States itself to escape Belle Morte's court with the help of Augustine. Jean-Claude became the Master Vampire of St. Louis after Anita Blake killed Nikolaos. Together with Richard Zeeman, Jean-Claude is a member of Anita's first triumvirate



Micah Callahan Micah Callahan arrived in St. Louis as the Nimir-Raj of the Maneater Clan. Merging his pard with Anita's pard, the Blooddrinkers Pard, they rule as Nimir-Raj (King) and Nimir-Ra (Queen). Micah is coordinator of the Lycanthrope Coalition, and is also Anita's live-in lover and one of her closest companions along with Nathaniel.
Micah has many unique powers as a shape-shifter. He can heal others by 'calling flesh.' He has the ability to shape-shift quickly, and is not tired or ill from the effort. He has chartreuse yellow/green eyes

By the end of Lover Avenged, Wrath is completely blind and relies on a dog called George who sleeps with him and his wife, Beth.

Zsadist is the scarred, menacing Brother. Taken as an infant from his family, he's forced into blood slavery until his twin, Phury, rescues him. His story with the beautiful aristocratic vampire Bella tells the softening of this tortured warrior's heart in Lover Awakened

 And for something a little different. 

I got this effect by printing the picture in negative, then after sticking it to the canvas, I coloured over it using a white wax crayon. Then I painted over it with acrylic paint. Once dry I scrapped off some of the paint.

So after my first canvas, I was hooked!! Here are some I made for a friend.

Mixed Media Canvas

I decided to try my hand at scrapping on block canvas. 

This was my first attempt:

First I designed a "digital layout" and printed it onto 

iron-on paper, which I then ironed it onto the canvas.

By adding some embellishments and raising the photos, it 

gave the canvas a pretty cool 3D effect. 

I even handmade the dream-catcher!!
